Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Demonstrate and practice American college classroom norms such as taking turns, agreeing/disagreeing, asking for clarification, and participating in groups.

Analyze and evaluate speaker attitude.

Use academic discourse markers and collocations to express ideas.

Practice note-taking skills using guided notes.

Prepare and participate in academic discussions and presentations.

Practice the use of intonation, prominence, and pausing to create meaning.
