Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Formulate simple statements, imperatives, and questions.
Demonstrate appropriate use of capitalization and end punctuation.
Recognize and distinguish count and non-count nouns.
Distinguish between definite and indefinite articles.
Identify and use subject, object, and possessive pronouns.
Formulate sentences using regular and select irregular verbs in the simple past and present; present continuous, and simple future tenses.
Practice and write sentences using correct prepositions of place/time and prepositional phrases.
Demonstrate correct usage of adverbs of place, time, manner, and degree of frequency.
Write sentences using a variety of level-appropriate vocabulary.
Draft, revise, and proofread sentences.
Illustrate evidence of audience awareness.
